PS Vita Battery Life Compared to the Competition

The PS Vita was recently launched in Japan. With this launch many people want to know how good the battery life actually is. Well it so happens that one user has created a video of the PS Vita, PSP, and Nintendo 3DS in order to test the battery life on all three devices.

In the video, the PSP is the PSP-3000 Hunsters Model with an expanded 2200mAh battery. It's playing Monster Hunter Portable 3rd from UMD with Media Install. The game has been set to the point just in front of the village leader after leaving the main gathering spot.

The 3DS is the Zelda 25th anniversary system with the system's standard 1300mAh battery. It's playing Monster Hunter 3G and is also set to in front of the village leader spot.

The Vita is the 3G/Wi-Fi model with its standard 2210mAh battery. It's playing Uncharted off a game card.

All three systems are set to highest brightness and highest volume. The 3DS 3D volume is set to max.

It took the Nintendo 3DS battery 2 hours and 35 minutes to run dry while the Vita lasted for 3 hours and 47 minutes. By comparison, the PSP-3000 lasted 9 hours and 29 minutes clearly showing that all the extra power of the 3DS and Vita comes at a price.
